When to disclose? UAMS employees are required to submit a Conflict of Interest disclosure within the first two weeks of employment and then at least annually. Additionally, you must update your disclosure within 30 days of acquiring or learning of a new financial interest.
Where to disclose? The UAMS Conflict of Interest Office utilizes two Conflict of Interest disclosure systems:
- All UAMS Institutional Officials and Academic Staff Members (i.e., Faculty members, Principal and Co-Principal Investigators, and any other individuals at UAMS who are responsible for the design, conduct, or reporting of research performed here) must submit their COI disclosure in the UAMS Muse system at https://museCOI.uams.edu/.
- All Non-Academic Staff Members at UAMS must submit their COI Disclosure in Workday. Please see the Tutorials Section of this website for assistance updating your COI disclosure in Workday.
What to disclose? UAMS employees should disclose their and their immediate family members’ interest if they reasonably appear related to an the disclosing employee’s Institutional Responsibilities. Those interests include:
- Equity interests;
- Licensed intellectual property or income from intellectual property rights;
- Payments or other remuneration from outside organizations;
- Outside employment or independent contractor relationships with other healthcare organizations or entities doing (or seeking to do) business with UAMS;
- Service as an executive officer, board member, or other fiduciary position with other healthcare organizations or entities doing (or seeking to do) business with UAMS;
- Fiduciary Relationships with outside organizations; and
- Sponsored travel or other in-kind contributions from outside organizations (i.e., Other Support).
